Petful checked Invisible Fence Brand's own cost page and found only one price, a do it yourself GPS system starting at $300. For its installed In Ground and GPS PRO systems, the brand posts no price. It sends buyers to a free quote from the local dealer, or to financing of up to $25,000.
Invisible Fence Brand's page gives a financing example of a $5,500 purchase at $253.54 a month for 24 months at 9.9% interest, with 0% offers for up to 12 months for some buyers. It also claims its system is 45% to 80% cheaper than a regular dog fence for a quarter acre. Our fence installation page puts a regular fence at $15 to $25 per foot.
Across the whole market, HomeGuide puts a buried invisible fence at $800 to $2,800 and Dogster at $800 to $3,000. Petful says a typical suburban yard can land anywhere from about $150 to about $3,400 for one dog, and that whether a crew has to dig is the main thing that decides where you land. A GPS fence uses satellite signals, needs no digging and suits large properties over about 5 acres, though bad weather can affect it. A wireless kit sends out a circle from a box in your house, so it cannot follow an odd shaped yard.
Yard and Garden Guru says the buried loop wire can last 20 to 30 years when looked after, while collar batteries need changing and cost about $10 to $50. HomeGuide also suggests talking with your vet first and checking local rules, since some areas limit these fences.
