Gong costs a $5,000 to $50,000 platform fee plus $1,300 to $1,920 a user
Gong has no public price. Buyer reports put the platform fee at $5,000 to $50,000 a year, with per user licences of $1,300 to $1,920. For a 50 person sales team that lands at roughly $85,000 to $155,000 a year, plus $7,500 to $15,000 of first year onboarding.

How a Gong bill is built
| Platform fee | $5,000 to $50,000 a year. |
|---|---|
| Per user | $1,300 to $1,920 a year, and up to $3,000 on bundles. |
| 50 seat team | About $85,000 to $155,000 a year. |
| Onboarding | $7,500 to $15,000 one off. |
| Renewal | Automatic rises of 5 to 15 percent are common. |
What pushes a quote up
| Seat count | Vendr data shows $1,800 to $2,600 a seat at 50 to 150 seats. |
|---|---|
| Bundles | Core plus Engage plus Forecast pushes a 50 seat deal to $150,000 or more. |
| Contract length | Two and three year terms buy 20 to 30 percent off. |
| Seat overages | Adding seats mid term costs 10 to 20 percent more per seat. |
| Implementation | Complex rollouts have been quoted as high as $65,000. |
The renewal clause costs more than the discount saves
Gong contracts commonly include automatic rises of 5 to 15 percent at renewal. A $29,000 deal becomes about $31,900 in year two and $35,090 in year three without adding a single user. Model that before you celebrate a first year discount.
Two clauses are worth fighting for: a cap on the annual rise, and the right to add seats at your original rate. Without the second, growth is billed at a higher rate than the deal you signed.
Why the price is hidden
Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Ask for a cap on the yearly rise, in writing.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Buy a small seat buffer so growth does not trigger overage rates.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
Gong pays back fastest in teams above about 50 reps, where patterns across hundreds of calls turn into coaching that moves close rates. Below that, most teams use it as an expensive call recorder. If that is the real use, price a recorder plus your CRM notes and compare.
One question decides a lot on the call: is the platform fee waived or reduced in year one. Reps have room there, and it is the least painful place to take a discount.
Check the recording rules in your states and countries too. Consent laws differ, and the setup has to match them. Ask how the platform handles two party consent, what the notice to participants looks like, and who owns the recordings if you leave.
