Three season or four season
This Old House explains the split. A three season room uses single pane windows and is meant for mild weather. A four season room has double pane windows and heating and cooling so you can use it all year. The four season version costs far more and needs more permits.
A sunroom is not cheaper than a regular addition. Ken Ward, a Virginia remodeler quoted by Real Homes, says windows drive up the cost because glass costs more than a normal wall of siding, insulation and drywall. Angi's figures put a sunroom at $150 to $300 per square foot, against $80 to $200 for a regular addition.

Glass, framing lumber and trade labor all cost more this year.

Quotes are being held open for shorter periods this year, so ask for the expiry date in writing.
