To be in the park between 3 am and 7 am for sunrise, you also need a $1 sunrise reservation, booked 2 to 60 days ahead. Fee free days do not include sunrise entry. What the park says: Fee-free entrance days do not include sunrise reservations or admittance to the park between the hours of 3:00 am-7:00 am.
About the main pass: Valid for three days. Admits private, non-commercial vehicle (14 max capacity or less) and all occupants to Haleakalā National Park including both the Summit and Kīpahulu Districts.
About the annual pass: Valid for 12 months from purchase date. Admits the pass holders and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle (14 max capacity or less) to Haleakalā National Park, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and Puʻuhonua ʻO Hōnaunau National Historical Park.
