Implants are not lifetime devices. The FDA requires a boxed warning that says the chance of problems rises over time and that some problems need more surgery. So plan for a possible second surgery later: removal or replacement is a new operation with its own surgeon, anesthesia and facility fees.
The FDA also requires a patient decision checklist, so your surgeon must go over the risks with you before surgery. Read it before you decide.
Watch low advertised prices
Many clinics advertise the surgeon fee only. NuBody Concepts notes a price marketed at $3,900 can end up at $6,000 to $8,000 once anesthesia and facility fees are added. Ask for an all in quote.
