Calf implants cost about $7,000 to $12,000 in total
Most U.S. patients pay about $7,000 to $12,000 in total for calf implants in 2026. You may see a lower number quoted online: the Aesthetic Society puts the average at $5,026, but that covers only the surgeon and the facility. Anesthesia, tests, medicine and compression garments come on top. Big city surgeons can charge $15,000 or more.

Calf implants are cosmetic surgery, so health insurance does not pay for them unless there is a medical reason. What changes your price
- What the quote covers. The $5,026 average leaves out anesthesia, tests, medicine and garments.
- Your surgeon. Well known board certified surgeons charge more.
- Your city. Big coastal cities cost the most.
- One or both sides. Most people get both calves done, which costs more than one.
- Implant placement. Placing the implant under the muscle is harder and costs more.
- Time off work. Plan for a few weeks of limited walking and exercise.
Why the first number you see is too low
The Aesthetic Society says its average of $5,026 comes from its national databank and covers only the standard surgeon and facility fees. It does not include anesthesia, medical tests, prescriptions or surgical garments. Because calf augmentation is cosmetic, insurance does not cover it, and many surgeons offer payment plans.
Georgia Plastic says the surgeon fee alone is about $3,600 to $5,000, and once the implants, the operating room, anesthesia and aftercare are added, the total usually lands between $8,000 and $15,000. In a later guide it puts the American Society of Plastic Surgeons average surgeon fee at about $3,844. It also reports a 95.4 percent patient satisfaction rate for the surgery.
Bookimed, which collects quotes from clinics, says U.S. prices run from about $7,000 to $12,000, with an average near $9,500. CureMeAbroad lands in the same place: most patients spend $7,000 to $12,000, and top city surgeons can pass $15,000. Calf implants and other body surgery
Calf implants are one of several body shaping surgeries. See our breast implants and tummy tuck pages for other surgery costs, or AirSculpt and Sono Bello for fat removal.
Georgia Plastic says people choose calf implants to add size, fix a difference between the two legs, or restore shape after an injury, often after years of training that did not build the muscle. CureMeAbroad says the most important choice is the surgeon, not the price, because fixing a poor result costs far more than the first surgery.
How to judge the price you are quoted
- Ask for one written total that includes the surgeon, facility, anesthesia and implants.
- Ask what the price leaves out, like tests, medicine and compression garments.
- Check that the surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery.
- Ask how many calf implant surgeries the surgeon has done.
- Compare with $7,000 to $12,000 for most patients.
Ways to pay less
- Get quotes from two or three board certified surgeons.
- Ask about payment plans or medical credit, and read the interest terms.
- Ask if doing both calves in one surgery lowers the total.
- Do not pick a surgeon on price alone. A revision costs far more than doing it right once.
How we got these numbers
Surgeons set their own prices. The ranges come from the Aesthetic Society databank and 2026 guides from surgeons and clinic price sites, as dated below. We do not add our own guesses. This page is about cost only, not medical advice. All numbers were checked on September 28, 2026.
