How Much Does Insulin Cost Without Insurance in 2026?
In 2026, many people with no insurance can pay $35 a month for insulin. Three big insulin makers run a program at that price. Eli Lilly has the Lilly Insulin Value Program. Novo Nordisk has MyInsulinRx. Sanofi has the Insulins Valyou Savings Program. Each one sets what you pay at the pharmacy for a 30 day supply. This page shows how each program works, what the full list price is, and where to sign up. The list price is the number that scares people. It is the price before any program or coupon. Novo Nordisk list prices from January 2024 show a NovoLog vial at $72.34 and a NovoLog FlexPen pack at $139.71. A Novolin vial is $48.20. A Levemir vial is $107.85 and a Levemir FlexPen pack is $161.77. Lilly lists its generic insulin lispro at $25, a price that began in May 2023. Walmart sells ReliOn human insulin at about $25 a vial. So the range for insulin with no insurance runs from about $25 to about $162 for one pack at list price. Some people need more than one pack in a month, so a full month at list price can add up to more. Most people who sign up for a maker program pay $35, so that is the number we use as the typical price. Programs have rules. Most need a prescription. Some need you to sign up again each calendar year. Some cover only certain products. A maker can change or end a program at any time. Always check the maker page before you go to the pharmacy. This page is a cost guide. It is not medical advice. Your doctor or pharmacist decides which insulin is right for you. This page only covers prices, programs and ways to pay less. The numbers here come from NovoCare, the American Diabetes Association and GoodRx. Some pages are older than others. The GoodRx page was last updated on November 12, 2024, and the Novo Nordisk list prices on it took effect in January 2024. The NovoCare program page does not show a date. Please check today's price with the maker or your pharmacy before you buy.
