- On a compressor quote, ask what is included. Refrigerant recharge and a new filter drier should be in it.
- Ask about the repair warranty. 90 days on labor is common. One year on the part is better.
Ways to pay less
- Clean the coils first. Dirty coils cause warm temperatures and long run times. It is an $80 to $150 service or a free job with a brush.
- Check the simple things. A door that does not seal and a blocked vent inside the freezer cause many no cool calls.
