What changes your price
- Oil amount. Civic and Accord engines hold about 4 to 5 quarts. Pilot and Odyssey V6 engines often take more than 5, which can add a charge.
- Oil type. Full synthetic costs more than conventional. In one example, high mileage oil cost about $21 more.
- Your engine. Six cylinder engines cost more than four cylinder ones.
- Dealer specials. Many dealers post a set price and coupons.
- Extras. A tire rotation or inspection raises the bill.
- Your city. Labor rates change by area.
What Honda drivers should know
Honda Libertyville says nearly every current Honda, including the Civic, Accord, CR-V, HR-V, Pilot and hybrids, takes 0W-20 full synthetic. Your interval is not a fixed 3,000 miles. The Maintenance Minder sets it from how you drive. Oil Changers says newer Hondas on full synthetic often need a change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles or once a year.
Honda Libertyville also notes that some 2016 to 2018 Civic and 2017 to 2018 CR-V models with the 1.5 liter turbo engine had a cold weather issue on short trips, so it says not to stretch the interval the Minder gives you on those engines.
New Hondas get free service. New Century Honda says Honda Service Pass covers A1 and B1 services on new 2025 and 2026 models for 12 months or 12,000 miles at participating dealers.
