Why the first price is not the last price

The jewelry is where prices jump. Antic Beauty describes a studio that quoted $70 for the piercing, then showed jewelry that started at $50 for a plain titanium bar and went up to $300. A $70 piercing turned into about $120 before the client left.
Then there is the downsize. Once the swelling goes down, most people switch to a shorter bar so it moves less and heals better. Antic Beauty puts that second bar at $30 to $60.
