Oregon Caves tours cost $20 per adult
Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve is free to enter, but the cave can only be seen on a guided tour. The Discovery, Candlelight and Kids and Family tours cost $20 for adults 16 and older and $15 for youth 15 and under. Senior and Access pass holders get half off their own ticket. The America the Beautiful annual and military passes do not cover tours.

Every ticket holder must check in at the Oregon Caves visitor center at least 30 minutes before the tour. Late arrivals are not refunded. What this price covers
What the park says: The park service does not collect an entrance fee, but the cave can only be seen on a guided tour. Reservations are advised but not required. In summer, long waits and sell outs can happen.
About the tours: The Discovery tour is 90 minutes and moderately strenuous. The Candlelight tour is 60 minutes by candlelight, for ages 10 and up. The Kids and Family tour is 90 minutes and needs at least one child in the group. For the Discovery and Kids and Family tours, children must be at least 42 inches tall, and anyone 15 or under must be with an adult. No strollers or baby carriers are allowed in the cave.
About passes: Senior and Access passes give 50 percent off, for the pass holder only. Passes and photo ID must be shown at check in, even for booked tours.
The cave stays about 44 degrees Fahrenheit all year, so bring warm clothes and closed toe shoes with good grip.

Ways to pay less
- Bring your Senior or Access pass for half off your own ticket.
- Book ahead on Recreation.gov. Discovery tours hold only 12 people and summer tours sell out.
- No reservation? Stop at the Illinois Valley Visitor Center in Cave Junction for same day tickets.
- Allow an hour to drive from Cave Junction. Late arrivals lose their tour and their money.
