Timpanogos Cave tours cost $12 for ages 12 and up
Timpanogos Cave National Monument in Utah is free to enter, but you can only go into the caves on a ranger guided tour. The main cave tour costs $12 for ages 12 and older, $7 for ages 2 to 11, and $2 for babies 1 and under. The lantern tour costs $17 and the Introduction to Caving tour $22. Senior and Access pass holders get half off their own ticket.

What this price covers
What the park says: It is free to enter the park, but you need a cave tour ticket to go into the caves. The caves are open by season, depending on the weather.
About the hike: The cave trail is a steep, paved 1.5 miles that climbs about 1,100 feet. The hike up takes about 90 minutes, then the tour is about an hour inside three connected caves. Bring about 1 liter of water per person.
About booking: Tickets are sold on Recreation.gov from 30 days to 1 hour before a tour. Tickets for tours starting within the hour are sold only at the visitor center. The park takes cards only, with no cash or checks.
About the special tours: The lantern tour spends an hour in the caves by lantern light. The Introduction to Caving tour is strenuous, with scrambling and crawling to Hansen Cave Lake, and is for ages 14 and older.
