The new $10,000 floor
Guides report that from the second quarter of 2026, OneTrust set a minimum contract of $10,000 a year. OneTrust has not confirmed it in public. Small companies that paid a few thousand dollars a year, often for cookie consent only, may see a much bigger bill at renewal.
If cookie consent is all you use, get a quote from a smaller consent tool before your renewal date. That gives you a real number to bring to the OneTrust call.
Why the price is hidden
Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Check every meter in the quote. Ask how many admins, websites and data records the price covers, and what each extra costs.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Cap the yearly rise. Many contracts include 5 to 10 percent a year, so ask for a lower cap or none before you sign.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
OneTrust suits companies with a real privacy team, many countries and many privacy laws to follow. It covers far more than cookie banners, from data maps to vendor risk to AI rules.
Smaller companies that only need cookie consent are the ones most hit by the new minimum. For them, a focused consent tool is often a small part of the cost.
A last tip: time your renewal talk. Start at least 90 days before the renewal date, so you have time to compare before the contract rolls over.)();
Most buyers pay $10,000 to $120,000 a year. The median is about $11,835. Guides report a $10,000 yearly minimum from Q2 2026. OneTrust has not confirmed it. No. Every deal is a custom quote. Guides report 20 to 40 percent at renewal, and 5 to 10 percent yearly rises in many contracts.Common questions
