What changes your price
- Size. Alina says a dessert table needs 4 to 6 feet, a head table 8 to 12 feet and a full wall 15 to 25 feet or more.
- Style. Organic arches use more balloons and mixed sizes, so they cost more than classic ones.
- Balloon count. Alina says a basic garland uses 8 to 12 balloons per foot and a premium one uses 20 to 30 or more.
- Balloon type. Alina says chrome, double stuffed and metallic balloons cost 2 to 4 times more each.
- Delivery and setup. Balloon Celebrations says its listed prices do not include setup, travel or delivery.
- Your city. BalloonBuilder says big metros like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles sit at the top of the range or above.
Per foot or per project
Many shops price by the foot. Hype Magazine says standard garlands run $15 to $25 a foot and dense organic ones run $20 to $40. BalloonBuilder says some decorators also use $2 to $4 per balloon as a quick estimate.
Alina says a per project price is usually better for the client, because it includes design, materials, delivery, setup and takedown in one quote. Per foot prices from different shops may or may not include those. BalloonBuilder adds that many decorators include delivery and basic setup within about 15 to 20 miles, and that taking the balloons down after the event is a separate service.
Outdoor arches need extra support for wind and weather, says Party Sparkz. How to judge the price you are quoted
- Ask if delivery, setup and takedown are in the price.
- Ask how many feet the arch is, and if the frame is included.
- Ask if the price is per foot or per project.
- Ask what balloon types are in it, like chrome or foil.
- Ask if there is a fee for last minute or rush orders.
- Compare with $250 to $450 for a standard arch and $300 to $850 for an organic one.
Ways to pay less
- Ask about grab and go. Fashion Balloons says you save $125 to $350 of delivery and setup fees.
- Choose a standard arch over an organic one.
- Pick standard latex balloons and add only a few chrome ones.
- Go a little shorter. A 6 foot garland can start near $165.
- Book a few days ahead. Balloon Concierge says that gives the best pricing.
- Get a per project quote so there are no surprise fees.
