What Bullhorn posts, and what it leaves out
Bullhorn is applicant tracking and CRM software for staffing and recruiting firms. It posts some prices on its own site, but most buyers still get a custom quote.
Free implementation is included with Starter, Core and Pro. Prices on the page exclude VAT. Add-on products are quoted by sales, and annual contracts for small teams are said to start at about $20,000.
Why quotes vary so much
Bullhorn is sold deal by deal. There is no fixed price, so the quote reflects your size, your urgency and the time of year. Two firms with the same headcount can be quoted amounts far apart. This page shows the range buyers actually report, with the source for each number.
Because the bill is per user, per month, the quote grows with every seat you add. Count the seats you will really use before the call.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Ask for a multi-year price lock.
- Ask for a discount if you add seats later.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Ask which add-ons you can skip.
- Check the renewal terms and notice period.
- Ask for a trial or pilot for the higher plans.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
