How we calculate this
Prices are for the United States in 2026 from published cost guides, checked September 2026. This is an estimate, not a quote.
What Vena buyers pay
| Median contract | About $27,000 to $34,000 a year. |
|---|---|
| 15 to 25 contributors | About $60,000 to $120,000 a year. |
| Setup | About $30,000 to $75,000 for mid-sized teams. |
| First year all in | About $75,000 to $250,000. |
| Large companies | About $400,000 or more in year one. |
What pushes a quote up
| User types | Power users cost the most, then contributors, then view only users. |
|---|---|
| Tier | Professional and Complete, with Complete adding more tools and support. |
| Modules | Budgeting, forecasting, reporting and close are priced as needed. |
| Setup | Data links and templates are usually billed in year one. |
| Term | Three year deals are reported to cost 15 to 25 percent less a year. |
Setup can cost as much as the software
Vena is not a switch on tool. Setup covers linking your accounting system, building templates and training. Guides report $30,000 to $75,000 for mid-sized teams, which can match a full year of the license. Ask for software and setup as separate lines.
User type matters too. Power users who build models cost the most. Contributors who enter numbers cost less, and view only users cost the least. Most teams have far more contributors and viewers than power users, so check the mix. See our Anaplan page for a bigger rival.
Why the price is hidden
Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Ask for the price of each user type: power, contributor and view only.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Ask for a cap on yearly increases. Vendr suggests 3 to 4 percent at most.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
Vena suits mid-sized finance teams that live in Excel and want budgets, forecasts and reports in one controlled system. Reviewers praise the Excel feel and the support team.
Very small teams may find the setup cost hard to justify. It earns its price when many managers send in budget numbers each cycle.
A last tip: ask about current offers. G2's Vena listing mentions a limited offer for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central users, so check if one applies to you.)();
