CodeGiant reports full platform access above $200 per user a month, and enterprise contracts that often start at $100,000 a year.

The first contract is cheap, renewals are not
VendorBenchmark says new Appian buyers in a competitive bid often get 30 to 40 percent off list. At renewal, the discount drops to 10 to 20 percent, and it has seen increases of 35 to 50 percent when buyers had no real alternative. Once your processes are built in Appian's own language, switching gets hard.

Why the price is hidden
Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Get renewal caps in the first contract, before your apps are built on Appian.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Count your process models and ask what each one past the baseline costs.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
Appian suits large companies and government bodies with complex processes and strict rules. VendorBenchmark says its sales team would rather discount deeply than lose a new customer to OutSystems or Microsoft Power Platform.
ITQlick says it fits best with budgets above $50,000 a year. Small teams building one simple app will likely pay for far more than they use.
A last tip: ask for a pilot on one real process before you commit to a big contract.
