Medallia costs about $20,000 to $600,000 a year

Medallia is customer feedback software. It collects surveys, reviews, calls and chats and turns them into reports. It does not publish prices. The range is wide because programs differ so much in size. One buyer data set puts smaller customers at an average of about $20,700 a year and enterprise customers at about $599,000. Another puts the median contract near $30,000. Setup adds about $50,000 to $200,000 or more on large programs.

    What pushes a quote up

VolumeSurveys, calls, chats and reviews all draw from a yearly allowance.
ModulesText analytics and other tools cost extra.
ServicesServices add about 10 to 30 percent of the contract.
OveragesGoing over your allowance costs extra.
RenewalRises of about 5 percent a year are standard unless capped.

    Know your volume

Medallia prices much of its product on a yearly pool of interactions, such as survey responses, calls, chats and reviews. If you underestimate that number, overage charges push the bill up. If you overestimate it, you pay for capacity you never use.

Pull a real count of last year's surveys, reviews and support contacts before the call. Ask how overages are billed and whether unused volume rolls over.

    Why the price is hidden

Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.

How to judge the quote in your hand

    Ways to pay less

    Before you decide

Medallia suits large companies running feedback programs across stores, call centers and apps. Smaller teams that mainly send surveys may get the same results from simpler tools for far less.

Ownership changed in 2026. Reports say control passed to its lenders early in the year, followed by a recapitalization in June led by Blackstone and Apollo. That is worth weighing before a long contract, and it may give you room to negotiate.

A last tip: get a Qualtrics quote too. The two compete for the same budgets, and buyers report that real quotes from both bring better prices from both.
