Darktrace costs about $12,000 to $131,000 a year
Darktrace uses AI to spot unusual activity on company networks, email and cloud systems, and can block attacks on its own. There is no public price list. Vendr data puts the median contract at $55,200 a year, with most deals from $12,000 to $131,667. UnderDefense reports big company contracts often pass $300,000 to $500,000.

How we calculate this
Prices are for the United States in 2026 from published cost guides, checked September 2026. This is an estimate, not a quote.
What Darktrace buyers pay
| Median contract | About $55,200 a year. |
|---|---|
| Range of most deals | About $12,000 to $131,667 a year. |
| Small rollout, one module | About $50,000 to $150,000 a year for 100 to 500 devices. |
| 500 to 2,000 devices, several modules | About $150,000 to $500,000 a year. |
| Reported by buyers | $24,000, $80,000 before talks, and $350,000 a year. |
What pushes a quote up
| Devices | Network is priced per device, email per mailbox, endpoint per agent. |
|---|---|
| Modules | Network, email, cloud, identity, endpoint and OT are sold apart. |
| Setup type | Cloud is the default. Hardware sensors can add cost. |
| Term | One and three year terms, with lower rates on longer deals. |
| Renewals | Buyers report yearly increases of 5 percent or more. |
Each module is its own bill
Darktrace sells each area as a separate product: network, email, cloud, identity, endpoint and OT for factory systems. UnderDefense says buying all six can cost three to five times one module. Start with the area where you are weakest, then add more once you see results.
Bring a rival quote. UnderDefense reports buyers who got a Vectra or CrowdStrike proposal cut 20 to 35 percent off the first number, and VendorBenchmark says Darktrace's fiscal year ends in June. Compare our SentinelOne and Arctic Wolf pages for other options.
Why the price is hidden
Software sold this way is priced by the sales team, not by a price list. The rep learns your size, your budget and how badly you need it, then builds a quote. Two companies the same size often pay different amounts for the same product. That is why the numbers on this page come from buyers and analysts, not from the vendor.
How to judge the quote in your hand
- Ask for each module priced on its own line, with device counts shown.
- Ask for the all in number: licence, setup, training and support for year one.
- Ask what renewal looks like in year two and three, in writing.
- Get a second quote from a rival and say so on the call.
- Buy at quarter end, when reps chase targets.
- Cut seats and modules you will not use in the first 90 days.
Ways to pay less
- Ask for a 30 day proof of value first, and use what it finds in your price talks.
- Pay yearly if the discount is real, not just a rounding of the monthly price.
- Start on the lowest tier and upgrade when you hit a wall.
- Ask for the setup fee to be waived or split over the year.
- Check the free trial or demo before you sign anything.
Before you decide
Darktrace suits mid-sized and large companies that want AI watching network traffic and able to act on its own. It adds the most as a main detection layer.
Toolradar suggests skipping it with fewer than 100 devices or a security budget under $50,000 a year, where simpler tools cover more for less.
A last tip: ask for a cap on yearly increases. Guides suggest 3 percent instead of the usual 5 to 7.)();
The median contract is $55,200 a year. Most deals run $12,000 to $131,667. No. Every quote is custom. By module and by devices, mailboxes or agents covered. Guides describe a 30 day proof of value on your own network. TrustRadius lists no free plan.Common questions
